Nourish: Food for Thought

food-for-thoughtThe café at Release Well-Being Center, Nourish, serves food that is healthy, tastes amazing and energizes and sustains you until your next meal. The right food can heal your body, mind and soul. At Release, we understand some foods that benefit one individual may not work well for another. The goal of our café team is to help you tune in to what foods make your body feel best.

Mindfulness is a word we are hearing more and more in relation to fitness and mental health; for example, if you are doing an exercise and you feel pain, you need to adjust your form. If you notice that your thinking is foggy, you might meditate or get more rest. It is through that type of feeling and noticing that you are in essence being mindful. Our team hopes to help our guests begin a mindful relationship with food. We will show you what to eat and help create an awareness of the foods that work for you.

healthy-eatingGrab a bite to go, or sit and savor; the café is open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Don’t worry if that doesn’t fit your schedule—fresh and nourishing gourmet snacks and meals are always available in our retail areas. Need to refuel after your early morning boot camp or sun salutations? Enjoy our seasonal vegetable hash with fried eggs and green chili sauce, with a great cup of coffee or tea. Worked up an appetite in a Yin yoga class or personal training session? Replenish your body with our ginger apricot brown rice, topped with a locally grown kohlrabi slaw. Need more protein? We can add nuts, goat cheese or spice-rubbed pulled chicken. Looking for sustenance after sweating it out in our spa? Come for lunch and enjoy a panini with turkey, cheddar arugula and granny smith apple slaw or one of our seasonal soups like minestrone or roasted garlic white bean. Want a little something sweet after a spa service or coaching session? Try a banana, pineapple and spinach smoothie or one of our home made granola bars. We will design a meal that balances health with taste and the food you enjoy.

release-cafeWe will also teach you how to prepare your favorite Release café meals at home! Join us for one of our many cooking classes or food workshops. These workshops and classes will focus on eating mindfully, locally and seasonally. Learn new recipes featuring seasonal produce. Demystify good fat and bad fats. Learn about the benefits of fermenting and pickling. The possibilities are endless!

As a part of Release Well-Being Center’s mind-body approach, you will find themes throughout our wellness center. Enjoy a hydrating and calming facial, and then stop by the café for a hydrating meal featuring naturally calming herbs; or the same essential oils used for your massage might be incorporated into a smoothie or soup. It is our goal to ensure you leave Release feeling energized, amazing and satisfied.
