Michelle Franchi, Barre & Pilates
Michelle is an instructor in our fitness program, teaching barre and pilates.

Looking to build strength, improve posture, and feel more connected to your body? Barre and Pilates are two low-impact yet highly effective movement practices that blend grace, control, and core engagement to deliver powerful results—physically and mentally.
Barre is inspired by ballet, yoga, and strength training. It uses small, isometric movements and high repetitions to tone muscles, especially in the legs, glutes, and core. With the support of a ballet barre or chair, participants focus on alignment, balance, and endurance, often feeling the “burn” in muscles they didn’t know they had.
Pilates, developed by Joseph Pilates, emphasizes core strength, spinal alignment, and breath control. Whether performed on a mat or using specialized equipment like the Reformer, Pilates builds deep, functional strength and flexibility. It’s especially beneficial for improving posture, reducing back pain, and enhancing body awareness.
Together, Barre and Pilates offer a mindful, full-body workout that’s accessible to all fitness levels. They’re ideal for anyone seeking a low-impact yet challenging routine that supports long-term mobility, stability, and well-being.
Why do you do what you do? And why do you do it at Release?
I love teaching barre, Pilates and yoga. The connection I make with people and watching them exceed their goals is so rewarding for me!
Release is a beautiful, friendly place. Every time I walk through the doors I soak in its peaceful energy!
Who is your hero?
My hero is Tom Brady. I love his drive and determination to be the best he can be! Not only is he the best Quarterback we will ever see, he lives a healthy lifestyle that works for him. He’s a family man, a leader, and a great role model for our children to watch.
What is your favorite escape?
My favorite escape would be to St. John. I love everything about it: he beautiful clear blue water and white sand beach; snorkeling to see beautiful fish and sea life; hiking swimming and just relaxing. This is where I go when I feel stressed out by the world and life.
