Mocha Magic Smoothie Recipe

Mocha smoothie in cup with banana slice on lip

Start your day with a delicious twist on your morning coffee—introducing the Mocha Magic Smoothie from Nourish Café. This refreshing blend is perfect for warmer days when a hot cup of coffee just won’t do. Packed with flavor and nutrients, it’s a smart and satisfying way to energize your morning.

Bananas, especially when ripe and frozen, add natural sweetness and creaminess while delivering potassium, fiber, and vitamin B6—great for heart health and sustained energy. Espresso or strong coffee provides a gentle caffeine boost to enhance focus and alertness, while also offering antioxidants that support brain and metabolic health.

Almond milk is a light, dairy-free alternative rich in vitamin E and healthy fats, making it ideal for those seeking a plant-based option. Cocoa powder brings a rich chocolate flavor along with flavonoids, which may help reduce inflammation and improve blood flow. A touch of maple syrup (optional) adds natural sweetness and trace minerals like zinc and manganese.

Blended together, these ingredients create a smoothie that’s not only indulgent and cooling but also nourishing and energizing. It’s a perfect way to treat yourself while staying on track with your wellness goals.

Many people start their day after their first sip of coffee. However, when the weather gets warmer, it can be difficult to enjoy a piping hot drink first thing in the morning or through out the day. Try this!

This is what you’ll need:

  • 2 very ripe bananas, cut into chunks and frozen
  • 2 (2-ounce) shots of espresso (or 4 ounces strong coffee), cooled
  • 6 ounces almond milk, plus more as needed
  • 1 tablespoon (heaped) cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)

Directions– it’s simple!

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and frothy—adding more almond milk if necessary—about one minute. Taste and blend in the maple syrup if you’d like the drink to be sweeter. Divide between two glasses and serve.
